Cannot create ActiveX component

Post by roedies » Sun Jun 04, 2017 5:40 pm

Dear,
I'm executing the examples on OLE/COM and hitting always the above error. How can I resolve this?

The example is the standard "ExtendSim VB example" located in the "examples\developer tips\ole automation\VB\VB Client app" directory as described in the developer reference.pdf. The error occurs always in the piece of code :

ExtendApp = CreateObject("Extend.application")

Using the C++ example hits the same error.

Creating the same type of code to link Excel works correctly ('Eapp = CreateObject("Exell.application") works fine

I'm using a WIN10 (64 bits) with office365. MS visual studio 2015
I've installed the latest demo version of 9.2

thanks for an update.

It sounds like the ExtendSim application is not registered. Try running ExtendSim with administrator privileges. You should only have to do this once. ExtendSim will automatically register itself.
