To run ExtendSim on a Client device of an ExtendSim9 Network license, the Client must either be connected to the same network the License Manager is installed on or have checked out a license from the License Manager on a previous connection.

When launching ExtendSim on a Client device, if you receive the error message "This ExtendSim installation is part of a Network License. It must be connected to a license file on a server to operate.", there is a connection issue. Possible causes are:

  • A firewall is blocking the communication between the Client and the Server.
  • The IP address or Port number entered into the Client are incorrect.
  • The License Manager on the Server is not running properly.

If the License Manager is not running properly, the end user might get an error reporting the Server is actively refusing the Client connection.
