Licensing changes in ExtendSim 2024

  • Individual licenses can be installed on virtual machines (VMs), but will not launch unless activated. Permission must be granted within the Activation Key (AK) to run on a VM.The end user’s user name on the VM they are using ExtendSim on is required to grant permission for launching on the VM through its AK.
  • Node-Locked licenses will NOT run on VMs. If you are running an ExtendSim 10 Node-Locked license on a VM, we'll need to set you up with a Floating license.
  • Floating licenses are not impacted by this change. License Administrators for Floating licenses must first upgrade the License Manager on the Server before Client devices can begin using ExtendSim 2024.
  • The ability to use Multicore Analysis to launch multiple instances of ExtendSim is contingent on a current Maintenance & Support Plan (MSP). If your MSP expires, you can still use ExtendSim, but can only launch one instance of ExtendSim.
  • ART Individual, Floating, and Node-Locked are now subject to an annual fee to maintain the ability to use Multicore Analysis.
