Under certain circumstances, connector information in an ExtendSim 2024.R1 model could get corrupted. When this happens, there is a good chance that the model won’t work anymore. This corruption could occur:
- When compiling a block.
- Setting or removing Debugging Code.
- Changing an icon view.
- When calling the IconSetViewByIndex() or IconSetViewByPartialName APIs.
- Changing the connector list in a hierarchical block.
To correct this issue, we created a new ExtendSim 2024.R1e executable file to replace the ExtendSim executable (ExtendSim.exe) in your Program Files folder. This new ExtendSim.exe fixes the connector information issue that might cause model corruption, otherwise it is identical to the 2024.R1 existing release. Download this new executable file, then replace your existing executable file with this new one following these instructions:
- Extract the ExtendSim.exe file from the zipped package you will download.
- You will need local administrator access to apply this change.
- Go to the folder where your ExtendSim application has been installed. By default, that location is C:\Program Files\ExtendSim.
- That folder contains your ExtendSim application’s executable file, ExtendSim.exe.
- Rename that file to something like ExtendSim2024backup.exe so you have a backup.
- Note: If you later change that executable back to ExtendSim.exe, you can go back to the original release.
- Place the new executable we’ve provided you into your C:\Program Files\ExtendSim. Be sure this new file is named ExtendSim.exe.
- Launch this new executable and the fix will be available to you in ExtendSim 2024.R1e.
